My friends didn’t fall, they stood up.
They didn’t surrender, they were ambushed, dragged down, tortured and murdered.
They didn’t jump, they flew with the Eagles.
They didn’t lose the fight, they bought time for the victory.
They paid with their time, with their lives.
They bargained for one second more, before the closing door.
One second was the difference.
The war within a war.
I remember them as soldiers.
