Patient Categories- Warehousing Patients (Obamacare)

It’s no longer a matter of a personal diagnosis between you and your doctor. Now, it is a matter of categorization. Categorizations that become a part of your social definition.

You are defined by the government in a category. You are categorized in medical treatments from assessments.

The assessments can be made by non professionals. For example: The tests given in assessments of Substance Use (Abuse) Diagnosis. As with non professional diagnosis to diseases such as Depression, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s, Autism.

In one of the largest changes in coverage, that is mandated by Obamacare laws, non professional assessments replace competent diagnosis by a licensed physician. There is also no changes to the medical requirements, of testing, in the case of mentally ill patients. These tests are necessary for the doctor to make a proper diagnosis and to legally medicate the patient. Without the tests the patient has to sign waivers to any negative outcomes, with respect to medications given.

This generalizes the category you are put in and care is relative to the category.  (1-5)*See:http://pubs.niaaa.nih.gov/publications/AssessingAlcohol/InstrumentPDFs/68_SUDDS-IV.pdf

A common term to describe this type of medical treatment is called  Warehousing the patient.
